This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven " Col 1:23 Welcome to the Faith Group website of the Canadian Coptic Centre, Church of Virgin Mary and St. Athanasius, Diocese of Mississauga, Vancouver and Western Canada, Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate. The goal of the Faith Group program is to enable us to build a solid Orthodox Christian foundation by: 1) Solidifying and expanding on fundamentals of the Christian faith 2) To make the Orthodox faith "our own"--associating taught concepts with everyday life, beginning to pass down the faith of our fathers 3) To defend the faith by demonstrating apologetic concepts in a contemporary, relevant, engaging manner that fosters interconnectivity and association of all units 4) To foster the practice of patristic reading and research of spiritual and theological topics going forward in an independent manner 5) To empower students with answers, tools and methods to understand and express taught concepts within each unit By accomplishing this, it will allow us to grow and to obtain a deeper understanding of our faith. This will be covered over 2 years in 8 in-depth units |
